Donghu Hotel was first built in the early 1950s, situated on the picturesque banks of Donghu Lake, covering a courtyard area of 2800 acres, and with a shoreline of over 3000 meters. Looking eastward, the hotel is adjacent to Mount Mo; to the south, it overlooks Luojia Mountain. The hotel courtyard is shrouded in green trees and misty shadows, providing guests with a unique and natural scenery. This hotel has hosted generations of leaders of the Republic of China, as well as many foreign heads of state and distinguished guests. It is the place where Chairman Mao stayed 48 times, earning it the nickname "Hubei Zhonghai". Chairman Mao once called this place "the place of white clouds and yellow cranes".

The hotel campus is a five-step scene-changing, ten-step color-changing masterpiece. Among them, there are 2 national first-class protected famous trees, 75 national second-class protected ancient trees, and 145 ancient trees over 100 years old. The hotel has four different styles of accommodation buildings: Meiling, Nanshan, Baihua, and the International Convention Center, each with distinct cultural characteristics. There are 85 meeting halls, over 500 guest rooms, and 40 banquet restaurants.

The Convention Center's Tingtao 2 Building has a construction area of 25,000 square meters and is a modern building with a Chu style, three-story high, and symmetrical on both sides. It is divided into two sections, A and B, with a total of 209 rooms, including two executive suites and 14 deluxe suites.
